supplemental heat maybe

These heaters are sold by many suppliers under various names. They are all the same heater. This heater is not that good at heating large spaces. A small workshop that is not that cold could benefit but a larger space that is below freezing will take forever. The worklight is essentially for show or for use as a nightlight only. It will not provide enough light to work under. The heater has no fan so the heat will take forever to reach more than four feet from the heater in a cold room. It would be best for cool nights in spring or fall but forget using it to heat a garage or workshop in winter. Maybe if it was just for heat right over your workbench it would be ok but thats about it.

I returned this heater after the heat control pull cord broke on the third use. As a ceiling mounted heater it worked well but the build quality is poor.

A: Purchase an electrical baseboard thermostat 240 volt wall switch. Put this in between the power and the heater. The power cord will have 3 wires, 1 white, 1 black and 1 green (or Bare). cut the wire where you want to put your NEW AUTO Thermostat. Now in your junction box, connect white to white, ground or green to metal junction box or ground screw. Attach one Black wire to the connector of the Wall Thermostat, attach the other black wire to the other side or terminal of your wall thermostat. in other words only the black wire has the thermostat in the middle, the others connect back up to each other.. set your temp, ENJOY....

A: I don't think you can replace the element, but since they are Quartz they should last for a very long time.

A: It is not that hard to mount and the unit is very light so it is easy to work with. It can be safely mounted to a wall with a few minor modifications.

A: No. This is a quartz heater. It is very powerful. It is like the heater you see in hockey arenas and bus stops, it glows bright red, so there is no fan.

Q: Can this unit be used without mounting on a ceiling ? I havent physically seen this product in store yet but I am wondering if the handle can be tilted in a 45 degrees manner so that unit can be radiate heat upwards. I would like to place it either on the ground or some table. Thanks!

A: No, this unit is meant to be mounted on a ceiling. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer.

You can use the following formula to calculate how much it will cost to operate a 1,500-watt space heater: Watts x hours of use ÷ 1,000 x cost per kilowatt-hour = cost of operation You would need to contact your electricity provider to get your "cost per kilowatt-hour". This varies in every city and the rate also depends on what time of the day you use the electricity.
