      Excellent Value

For the price you won't find a better deal on an youth bicycle with an aluminum frame. I was comparing this against the Raleigh Rowdy 20 which costs about $100 more. Most of the components are made of some kind of metal alloy rather than plastic or straight steel. The overall weight of the bike is around 23lbs which is light enough for my 6 yo to handle. If you're purchasing one that is assembled at Canadian Tire, consider taking it to a bike shop for a once-over to ensure it's in proper working order. When i got the bikes home, i had to make a lot of adjustments just to make it ridable. Before you leave the store I'd recommend you pickup the bike and spin the wheels to make sure there's no rubbing, make sure the brakes work, and the gears shift. Good things: - Aluminum frame - most cheaper bicycles are steel and are significantly heavier - Alloy v-brakes - these perform better than the stamped steel counterparts - Alloy rims - even though the seam is very visible, the rim is miles ahead of the cheaper painted steel seen on other bikes - Shimano revo shifters performs well when tuned - Solid front fork - it's nice having a lighter fork rather than some heavy shock in the front Not so good stuff: - the wheel hubs aren't great. There's a lot of mechanical friction in the freewheel which may slow your kid down. On one of the bikes, the cones were over tightened causing the wheel to not roll properly. - The brake pads may squeal - i have two of these bikes for my boys, and the pads on one bike are different than the other. One set squeals, the other doesn't. - The seat and seat post is the traditional style clamp with a single bolt. Not ideal, but it works. - the rear cassette of the bicycle is not shimano. It's made by another chinese company. It works well enough. Bottom line: The negatives aren't all that bad when compared against the price. Haven't shopped around for a long time - you cannot get a better bike for the price. Be prepared to either tune the bike yourself or take it to a bike shop to tune it up properly.

      Great little bike!

We bought this for my almost 7 year old who is very tall but skinny. All of the cheaper steel frame bikes were way too heavy for him to manage. But this one has a weight he can handle and a good size frame for him. I was about ready to go for a way more expensive higher end bike just to get him one that he could manage but he fell in love with this one! He sometimes has a hard time changing to the lower gears as they seem a bit stiff but other than that he loves it and wants to ride it all the time!

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Light weight frame!

Fantastic bike, light weight aluminum frame and good components are great for this price point. Don’t buy a heavy steel frame with shocks, buy this instead and your kid will be riding in no time. Fits 7-9 year old.
