      Excellent Bike!

Had this bike for a month and can say was an excellent purchase! I've had other bikes from Canadian Tire but nothing compares to this one. Its got a light aluminum frame and Simano Rev adjusters making it easy to change gears. Overall, another great bike by CCM. Aluminum colour looks great too. Nice for short trips or long rides and very durable!

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      Good bike

Bought this bike a couple of weeks ago. It's comfortable and rides nicely. The gear shifting could be a bit smoother, but overall the bike is quite nice and fun to ride. I'd recommend a more comfortable seat as this one is pretty hard. Overall I found the bike a great value for the price.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      I would recommend Equator

I like the bike and think it was a very good purchase ... it is light weight and rides very well. The gears are also OK ... much less complicated to operate/maintain than some of the other bikes I've had. When I bought it I found that I did have to fix-up and make certain adjustments (cable brakes and some minor adjustments) but besides this initial fix ... the bike is OK and I do not have any problems with it at all ... The sales person at the store dealing with cycling goods etc was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I purchased this bike last autumn at the CT store in Ville d'Anjou.

      Yes, I recommend this product.

      poor assembly quality

I have been purchasing CCM bikes from Canadian tire for over 40 years and have always considered them to be an excellent product. However, this time around it was difficult to get a functional one. The first one we selected had wobbly wheels and could not be ridden. The second one lost its front brake after being ridden a couple of times. We returned it for warranty repair Sept 26 2013 (to replace the brake retaining bolt) and it is still at the store 3 months later. Hence my overall rating is poor for assembly quality and poor for warranty service.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Is the handle bar height adjustible? If so, by how much, please?

      2 Answers
      • A: The handle bars will adjust up/down about 2 inches max. This is done by releasing the hex bold at the top of the stem. Be sure the min insertion is maintained, and proper torsion is applied. This is a serious safety concern and should be adjusted by someone who has a clue.

Q: Can this bike pull a child's bike trailer? We have a Croozer 535 that we would like to attach to this bike. Does CCM mention if this bike has a towing capacity?

      2 Answers
      • A: This bike has very cheap components. I doubt the bakes would be able to stop this bike with the weight of a trailer attached. You would be better off with the simpler, cheaper, SC 1800.

Q: lowest gear ratio? No info on the number of teeth for the crankset or the cassette, and I can't count them in the photo. 24:32 would be nice, but I'm guessing it's 24:24.

Q: How do I fix squeaky brakes? I bought this bike recently, and was using it for the first time today. The brakes are squeaky, how do I fix that?

      1 Answer
      • A: You will need to adjust the brake pads to align with the wheels better. Once the alignment is good, the brakes should not make the squeaking sound any more.
