Not for winter - major design flaw - no back brakes

Was really looking forward to disc brakes. Did not think about the rear brake cable design until this fall. The cable runs under the bottom bracket and then up to the rear brake. Water can get in and will get trapped in the low spot. Below 0C it will freeze and seize. You will have NO BACK BRAKES in winter. Be warned!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best CCM ever. great setup, solid frame, good parts.

This is the best hybrid I've ever had. Use to ride Norco's. its got a solid setup rides amazing and lasts. I've attached rear and front racks with panniers. I've had it fully loaded with 100 lbs of equipment and handled without a whimper. Best CCM bike ever for the price. Reason for 3 Stars The rear mount for the rear caliper was welded off centre, I've adjusted it best I can, paid at a reputable bike shop for a brake adjustment, with them telling me "it's a custom job to either re-weld it or make custom part". Bottom bracket always sounded off so one upgrade would be a new bottom bracket maybe higher handlebars. Otherwise the bike is an amazing bike its a quality bike, if only they put quality in everyone of their bikes. extra care goes a long way. Cheers. Bryce A.

Solid bike, but watch for assembly issues

Spirited steering! The bike overall feels good to ride. Smooth rolling, nice brakes (first time for disc brakes for me). The steering was different from my last one and seemed "excited". I need to be more subtle on the inputs, lest I end up biting it. Bonus: I wasn't expecting bolts in the water bottle or fender screw holes! Nice - made transferring components much more pleasant. 2 major issues to watch for: Seat: Other than seat height, only other adjustment is forward/back. No ability to adjust angle of seat. Couldn't get it comfortable, so resorted to my old seat. Bearings: Wheels seemed to be way over torqued. Could feel the bearings grinding under pressure. It's an art to get this right - so not faulting anyone, but did spend some time re-adjusting the bearing tension on both front and back wheel. One other note: The tires are 700x38. That's larger than the studded tires I ran this winter (700x35) and much larger than the road tires I'm used to (700x30 back, 700x25 from). So rolling resistance is significant. I'll run these tires this year, and 'upgrade' to slimmer ones next year.
