Use as instructed, good detangler

At first I was not impressed as the brush did not remove a lot of fur from my short-hair cat. Before returning it I read the instructions and saw that it should be used to brush backwards and I found it worked fairly well. Very good at getting the knots out from his hind-quarters and my cat enjoys this brush more than any other I own, but not as good as good at removing fur as other brushes.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a 20 lb cat, a 4 year old boy who adores being brushed. In fact, we have our own grooming station set up for him. We use 4 different brushes, varying in intensity and size of bristles. First we clean out the 'under hair' with a fur 'defuzzer' that works wonderfully. Next is a wire brush that truly gets out all the loose hairs and gives our boy a beautiful, stimulating massage. Then it's a rubber tipped wide bristle brush to loosen everything up again and then I bought this little one to use on his face and legs. It seems rather ineffectual, as viewed by the lack of hairs it picks up. We will keep using it as part of our grooming ritual, because the cat truly loves this on top of his head and down his legs, and especially over his cheeks where he will press his whole head into the brush, he's enjoying it so. I just thought it would do more to remove excess hair. This is more of a simple face massage tool, in my opinion.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Not bad but not the best cat brush in town.

If you are looking for a cat brush that is good at removing all of that fur that your feline friend sheds, then this may not be the best brush for you. It is a good brush for helping your cats fur remain soft and clean but because of the rubberized coating on the ends of the bristles it doesn't really grab all of the loose fur. As a result you have a cat with a shiny coat and you are still covered in thier fur.

Hi Bigboom, Thank you for your purchase and your comment. We would agree with your comments entirely - this brush is mainly for light brushing of the cat, it is not meant as a brush that will thoroughly clean out the undercoat. On this item, we chose comfort for the cat as the primary function. This will straighten out the coat, perhaps make the cat look neater, but for heavy duty undercoat removal, we would suggest using a Wahl deshedder for that.
