The low oil light in my 2004 Yamaha BWS conveniently turned on when I was near a Canadian Tire. This was the only injector compatible oil in stock and it seemed decently rated so I picked it up.
My engine was bogged down and my engine became super smoky when cold. I had recently cleaned my air filter and had thought my spark plug fouled or carburetor needed cleaning until I topped up the oil reservoir with my usual oil since the Castrol was only 500 mL. In 200km, the symptoms died down and performance restored.
This stuff might be ok for a lawnmower but don't use in anything where losing acceleration and 5km/h of top speed will be detrimental.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: In a pinch, yes. But I wouldn't keep in there too long. It has less additives and detergents to keep your engine protected and clean.

Q: Can I use oil on a pocket bike? I have 49cc pocket bike & I was wondering if I could use the oil.

A: I’m not sure what type of bike you have. We’d need more details to make a proper recommendation. Just from my knowledge, those pocket bikes are typically 2 stroke engines so I’d say yes, the Castrol 2 Stroke will work. You will have to mix this with gasoline to the correct ratio for your application.

A: For a direct oil injected 2-cycle engine such as this we would recommend that you use an oil specific to snowmobiles. Castrol has a 1L size (028-1783) and a 4L size (028-1787) that we do sell.
