This is a great barbell set, especially for the price. The textured metal handles give good grip and are comfortable. The rubber coating on the weights has a strong smell like new tires, but this mostly dissipates over a few weeks. Their customer service was great - my set was missing a few of the soft covers which go over the metal rack to cushion the barbells, and when I emailed their support they responded quickly and mailed me the pieces, which arrived in a few days from Ontario to BC.

A: Yes there's a moderate smell to it. Just wipe it down and it'll eventually subside. It's not too bad - still a good deal

Q: How do I get the smell off/away from the product so I can actually use them?

A: The dumbbells can be left in an open space to be aired out, also you use a mild cleaner (such as liquid soap; hand or dish) to lather, completely rinse and completely air dry. Which can help the smell dissipate faster.

A: I just bought this sat and it smells bad! You could smell the weights before they were even opened. And there also was a greasy type substance on some of the weights. I am waiting them all down and hopefully the smell will go away because it's bad.
