Great product, very happy!

I love these! Built 2 and bought 3 more. Great product, looks really nice, and very sturdy. The staff in Brockville and Prescott are always more than happy to load then into my car. I just strap them down onto a dolly and transport well.

This looks like a beautiful heavy duty bookcase but it's definitely NOT! I bought two for all my books, but after putting the first one together, which wasn't a picnic either, I loaded up the shelves with heavy books and within 5 minutes the shelves were sagging badly. If you're looking to display a few things that aren't heavy this would be fine but a sturdy bookcase it is NOT!!! Plus Canadian Tire has the worst return policy , especially for something you've assembled. So do not buy this as a bookcase because you'll be disappointed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Worse quality than it appears, even for cheap furniture

Let me preface this to say, it “looks” nice. I didn’t expect it to be great quality at this price - I’ve done my share of assembling cheap furniture like this as well as real furniture with real wood. However, the back of the unit is literally cardboard with a picture of wood on it…. Stickers were included that had wood grain on it to cover bolts… I mean, it’s literally garbage people through away garbage. And even for particle board, which most of it consist of, it’s not very dense - very easy to strip if you tighten even a bit to much. It’s very deceptive - it looks kind of good, but it’s built out of garbage. I have no confidence in it holding up at all. Even for cheap furniture, this was particularly bad. I won’t be buying anymore furniture at Canadian tire. P.S. I got this on sale and I still feel like I got ripped off.

Q: Are the shelves sturdy? Or do they begin to sag in the center when there is a lot of weight on them?

  • A: I have two of these shelving units and they’re packed to the brim with books. If you squint really hard and are really searching for it, you might see the slightest curvature due to the weight, but the shelves are extremely sturdy in my experience.

Q: What size are the holes for the support pegs? My movers lost all pegs and I need to purchase more to install the shelves.

  • A: The holes for the support pegs are quite small as the pegs fit in tightly. My bookcase is all put together and I could not see a number on the head of the support peg or any id Sorry that I cannot be more specific.

Q: The display shelf shows that it is one long piece but all the boxes show the bookshelf is two side parts stacked on top of each other. Can you no longer get the display bookshelf?

  • A: I can’t answer the question as to where or not you can buy the store display unit. The back of the bookshelf does come in one piece but for purposes of packing and shipping it is folded in half lengthwise.
