Possibly decent, VERY questionable quality control

Bought a pair of these a couple weeks ago and they appear to work but... the label that indicates the water flow direction was glued on backward/upside-down on one of the filters. If you're familiar with how these filters work, that isn't hard to figure out, but for a newbie, it could be completely baffling. It also made me seriously question the quality control. What if the filter was actually assembled backward and the manufacturer decided to sell it anyway, with the "correct" water flow direction on the label??? You would need a hose configuration that no RV'er is ever going to have in order to make that work. What would it even mean if the water runs through the filter backward? Given how expensive these are, the fact that they only have a 20 micron particle filter (far from great), and that we're talking about DRINKING WATER here... this is totally inexcusable. I don't even know if I should be using it anymore. I've already had 1 incident that is leaving me guessing.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Can these filters be installed horizontal and should they be before or after the pump.

3 Answers
  • A: First yes horizontal. We only use when using city water. Always used outside the trailer at water source. We never have used with demand pump. You can use filter outside the trailer with the hose filling your tank.

Q: Can I use this as shower head water filter?

1 Answer
  • A: This water filter is not likely to be compatible for in-line connection with a shower head as it is equipped with standard garden hose fittings while your shower head will have domestic plumbing fittings. If your shower is in fact within an RV, this filter should be used in-line with the fresh water connection to the RV or during the tank filling process.
