    Could have been better

    Not the usual buck quality but at discount price it is still honest. Chinese steel Wich is easy to sharpen but don't keep Edge for long. Would be good for a starter pack for a young or Scout or the really occasional adventurer.

    overall solid Kit. tested the hatchet and machete on some trees/branches I was clearing in the yard. worked well, still sharp with no blade damage after hitting the remnants of an old stone wall left on my yard perimeter. hatchet handle is a little small if you're a larger person. but I'm not a larger person so it fits my hand very well.
