This is very handy for cooking breakfast on overnight outdoor trips, eggs, bacon, home fries, tea, instant coffee.
Easy to carry in a pack, easy set up, gets hot very fast. Great for city "power blackouts" too, when you have electric appliances and need to cook something, this does the job.

I wouldn't recommend it for camping with a family, but for overnight trips to the back country its handy to have in case you can't or don't want to make a fire to cook

I use this stove for numerous tasks. We use it Fishing in the spring, and pack it on conoe trips as well. We pack it on the ATV to have a warm dinner on the trail. We use it ice Fishing in the winter time for heat and cooking. We use it in hunting season to heat hunting blinds and enclosed stands. Just keeps on kicking! Very simple and easy to operate. Unit is stable with feet and is at a nice hieght if you have no table etc.

Q: How much burn time for one filled tank? Is this suitable for a 4-5 day hiking trip?

A: If you cook three single pot meals a day, boil water for tea/coffee and also to purify the water to drink later I would bring one tank for every two days of camping. That should be sufficient.

Q: Can it be used indoors? Can this unit be used indoors (moderately of course) during emergencies like power outage during winter? Just to heat some water for a coffee or similar.

Q: Do the Coleman 16oz tanks fit? I was wondering if there is much difference between the 16.4oz gas canister required for this stove, and the Coleman 16oz replacement tanks. Do they fit? Thanks!

Q: Can you attach this burner to a 20 lb tank? If yes, does Canadian Tire sell the required adapters/hoses?

A: We do not recommend it. The stove uses the disposable tank as a base for stability- if you use adapter hose- then it will not be stable. If you use adapter tree- it might be too close to the tank and therefore, not a good idea.
