Great easy to put up, fair weather tent

I bought this tent last year to have as a quick, spur of the moment, fair weather summer tent and it hasn't disappointed. We have an old large Coleman family tent but that takes an hour to assemble and longer to take down, so only good for long trips. The pop up tent is perfect for short trips where you want to just get on with the fun. It really does pop open then only takes a couple of minutes to peg down. I have the 4-person. If camping with two people it fits a double air mattress with room for a bag at either end. With three people we use thermorests. Be sensible about this though. It's a lightweight, easy tent for good weather, not a tent made for rain (only 800mm coating) or stony ground. If you want something all purpose this is probably not the tent for you. The floor is thin so use a bottom tarp (you could get away with no tarp on soft thick grass). If there is rain in the forecast use a top tarp. My son and I got caught in an unexpected thunderstorm and did get flooded out but after four hours of torrential rain, very few tents would be dry. The water mostly came in through the seams on the door side and blew in under the small fly. The water pooled under the tent but still took a long time to seep through surprisingly. I can fold the tent myself (I am only 5'2") but it is easier with the help of another. Not sure I could do the 6-person version although I wish I bought the 6-person so the three of us could all use an air mattress.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Trouble taking down

This tent is a dream for set up! You actually toss it and walah! Done! The slight problem came with attempting to take the tent down. Every time we really struggled folding it the correct way to fit in the bag. Kind of frustrating.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Good value for money

Setup: Super easy, super light, very easy to carry as well. Tear down: Easy with some practice (recommend watching video and practicing beforehand) Durability: Average, material is thin but seems durable Easily fits 2 adults, and could comfortably squeeze in a 3rd medium build adult. I am 6ft broad built and I fit in there comfortably. Queen sized air mattress also fit in there comfortably. There is room for some minimal stuff in there as well, but not a whole lot. Did not encounter rain so cant comment on that. You will need a floor tarp to lay underneath as material is thin! Would recommend having additional tarp handy as well for top if rain is heavy. Overall good value for money, would recommend it.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Taking it back in the morning!

Great tent if you are camping in the living room! Thin material and floor is the same. not good in the rain at all. Rained first night out and had a lake inside. was pegged and guy roped as per instruction and all flaps and zippers closed. Useless! Also 4 man pop up was difficult for me to wrestle closed and I am over 6' tall. It spring open several times with considerable force. Avoid this tent!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Awesome tent!

We just returned from our first camping trip with this tent and it worked great! It handled two big rain storms with no problem, and my 13 year old son could set up and take down the tent with ease. Take down does require some practice, and I think the online video is essential to understand how to do it correctly - but once you figure it out, it's really easy! I bought this tent for the instant setup "pop up" feature and it worked as advertised. In the past, I remember threading poles and, with the help of one or two people, gradually getting the tent upright. But this tent literally pops into place, right out of the bag! Awesome! As I said, the tent handled heavy rain with no problem - I was pleasantly surprised at this, since it is a single layer light-weight fabric all around with a second layer just over the roof section and not the sides. I woke in the night during our first rain storm and checked the fabric and seams and only found two drips coming through a seam at my feet - after hours of heavy rain. After the first night, I purchased a tarp "ground sheet" to protect the bottom of the tent. I was concerned that the thin bottom fabric (same as the sides) would get damaged over time as we were camping on rocky gravel. I would recommend including a ground sheet like this.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: How do you fold up the 4 man tent? I was able to fold up the 2 man tent in the store but I bought the 4 man and can't seem to fold it to fit in the bag. I was able to condense it but it's too big. Please help!

    • A: Follow the same instructions as the 2 man tent, only difference is when you stand it up (after the initial folding up) and there is a circle formed at the bottom, put one foot on either side on the frame of the circle at the bottom. This will prevent the tent circumference from expanding when you fold it over. Hope that made sense.

    • A: Just watch the video sample of the guy folding it again & again!!!LOL As a bit of advice, try setting up the tent & then packing it away a couple of times in your backyard before heading out on your trip. That way you will know how to handle the tent better when it comes to packing it up!
