Broadstone 2-Room Tent, 8-Person

We have used this tent 3 times for 10 days of camping each time. Comfortable amount of space to sleep 2 adults and 2 adolescents, using large cots and blow up beds. However once the cots and blow up beds are in, there is not enough space for comfortably storing clothes and changing - so we bring another small tent to store clothes and to change in. It withstood an all night rain storm - only a tiny bit of water came in one of the closets. Airflow was very good. All the zippers are in perfect working condition even after 4 uses with kids who are not gentle with them!

We use this tent for our family of 6, plus 2 dogs for camping all summer long. Lots of room inside and its great that a 6' adult can stand up inside of it too. ;-) Seems to be durable, and sheds water well. Highly recommended!

Bought this tent in July, during the first use (overnight yard test) a pole snapped, returned it & used the replacement in August (2 night trip) only to have a problem first time using it again, this time the floor & wall separated leaving me with a hole about 8" long right in front of the door, although the size & features were great for myself & 2 children none of that matters if it doesn't last, we normally camp for 2-3 weeks at a time & both my previous tents (Coleman & ozark trail) have lasted for 5 & 7 years only needing to replace the Coleman now because a zipper has broken so not sure if it's a design or brand issue but I have definitely been turned off broadstone

Tent instructions sewn to inside of the exterior bag and are terrible to understand. One tent pole cracked and metal ends have jagged edges that have to be pushed into nylon sleeves, Have to be careful as I can see them ripping the material over time, same with the door arch which actually rests metal ends against the tent. We have had several tents over the years and this does not live up to our expectations. What a rotten start to our trip, this tent is headed back to the store ASAP!!

We took this tent out for a test run this week for a three night camping trip. It is a great size. It fits 4 twin size air mattresses comfortably. Four twins fills up the floor space but we always stack mattresses at the ends of the tent during the day so the tent is easier to move around in during the day, so this worked well for us. We were pleasantly surprised at some of the details of the tent - great pocket system at either end of the tent with lots of individual pockets for keys, phone etc. and also glow in the dark zipper pulls! We thought that was pretty neat and smart! Having two doors was also a selling feature as we have had zippers break on us before, so this allows us to have a "back up door" if this was to ever happen. Also we liked the entrance fly that jutted out a little bit, which we anticipate will protect the door a little bit during rain. We have purchased 10x17 foot tents in the past and were in the market for a new one this year.... The shape of this tent was what sold us. We loved the square ends which maximized floor space. And we were especially impressed with the height of the tent as we could stand up pretty much anywhere in the tent. Initially I thought this tent was a full 10x14 foot tent, and so was a little surprised at the luggage compartments that took up about 2 feet of the 10 foot width. But the compartments are kind of neat as they can be accessed from outside, which I think will be a handy feature. It is essentially 8x14 feet main floor space plus luggage compartments which fit our four duffle bags comfortably. Not much space is lost due to the compartments. We haven't yet withstood a rain storm so we can't speak to the how it holds up in that regard, though we did like the slope of the fly and how it directs the water away from the ends of the tent. We are a little concerned about how the luggage compartments will hold up during rain as the floor of the tent is up about half a foot everywhere except at the compartments and the fabric is not quite as tight on the roof of the compartments. But we will see how that works when we experience rain! Set up was reasonable, a bit more then other 10x17 tents we have used. With two sets of hands it was set up in a short time. We are preparing for a long road trip later this summer so anticipate this will make a fabulous summer "home" away from home:-)
