Get a Coleman

Worst mistake you can make buying thins junkheap. Bought it last week for a camping trip to Algonquin, started it up once, and had to shut it down. The heat from the it had melted the igniter. Won't even start now with a lighter or match. If you need a lantern, spend the extra 30-50 bucks and get a Coleman. Its an investment that will last, not give out after one use.

don't waste your money on this lantern. it worked for one summer and then quit. no matter what i do i can't get it to work. i have had a similar lantern from coleman for 30 years and it is still working. there is no instruction manual available on line. pay the extra money and get a coleman.

Q: Why can't I buy replacement parts at Canadian Tire The glass is thin and broke the first time we lit it - fine, we can deal with that. But now we need new mantles (apparently Coleman 21 are compatible), but Canadian Tire no longer stocks item #0762016.

A: Well I bought this unit about 2 years ago and yes I got the hard black plastic case that works great. It might be a 2008 thing to save money ... but back then this was a 69$ latern so take your pick I guess
