I have had my Botanica planters now for a month. As many others have mentioned, the containers split open as they can not take the weight of the soil that goes in them even after following directions to add charcoal to the bottom (this will make them lighter and add drainage) but you will also need a drill to make holes as there is no drainage in these planters. They are cheaply made junk. Do not buy.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: To respond to Dave's comment, the bins are designed to be filled with dirt. The bins have locking mechanisms on the sides to prevent any leaking of soil or water. The side panels lock into the main body of the bin to prevent any issues.

A: Hello Shelley, The Botanica modular garden can be stacked 3 high but Garant would recommend not going any higher. One level can be with a bin or legs depending on your configuration.

A: We purchased this for my dad. He planted onions, beans and carrots. Too small for squash unless you want them to hang down.

Q: How much soil is needed to fill one of the boxes?

A: The amount of soil required per planter box is 50L. You can add rocks to the bottom of the boxes (approx 1-2") to allow for added drainage.

A: To improve drainage, please add gravel or charcoal pieces to the bottom of the container. This will give more oxygen to your root and improved your harvest.

A: Please review the instruction manual on page 2 for further instructions (highlighted in orange below). To improve drainage, please add gravel or charcoal pieces to the bottom of the container. This will give more oxygen to your root and improved your harvest.
