GREAT STUFF!! My 1st time working with fibreglass resin and I had a good experience.

I had to replace the wood panel on my boat transom and I coated the custom-fit plywood piece with 2 coats of this product before installation. Turned out great ! Since it was a little cooler in the garage, I added a few extra drops of hardener (~50 drops per 4 ounces). When I returned 4 hours later, the 1st coat had cured nicely and I was able to sand it smooth before applying a 2nd coat. *Not a bad idea to pick up an extra tube of hardener while you're there - especially if you're going to be working in a cooler environment. I highly recommend this product !

Q: I have thousands of tiny cracks, thinner than hair in my fiberglass 1976 Boler trailer. Would this product work good if I can spread it thinly over large areas to fill cracks and then sand and prime again? help me please.

  • A: Do not take the chance on using polyester resin on a a thin coat on your trailer, Instead use two part epoxy and coat over all cracks and surfaces, let cure over-nite sand smooth next day and paint.....done

Q: Does the resin dry clear?

  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. No, the resin will not be clear like looking through glass. It does dry to have a yellowish tinge and may have a hint of green too.

Q: Do you need to apply PVA or wax to the final layer of resin/fiber glass so it cures? If not does it stay tacky?

2 Answers
  • A: No, you just need to add the included hardener when mixing it. If not, it'll stay tacky forever.

Q: I bought this yesterday, mixed 90 ml of resin with 30 drops of the hardener as instructed. I mixed it well for a full minute with a plastic fork. I soaked fibreglass cloth in it and applied it to the repair. It never hardened. How do I remove this mess?

  • A: It's been my experience that you need to use more hardener than they say on the package. Hardeners also loose strength with age. You might try a heat gun or hair dyer to harden the job. If it's not hard, it should peel off or you might have to sand it off. You could also try a second coat of resin with more hardener and a and apply it with a brush. Good luck!
