Passable design let down by poor adhesive

The amount of force to push in a cable and take it out was reasonable, but as others have said, the adhesive refused to stick to a smooth, dry, clean surface. I replaced the adhesive with a spare 3M Commander strip and tried again. The Commander strip stuck firm to my desktop, but the rubber clip wouldn't stick to the strip! A waste of money.
