Would Not Buy Again.

The waffle maker started out ok...worked well...the waffles didn't stick and removed easily. But then the waffles started sticking and trying to get them out was not easy. This morning was my last attempt...the waffles came out in a gazillion pieces. I also do not like the fact that you cannot remove the plates. It is difficult to clean the plates properly. Black and Decker makes amazing products, so I am surprised by this.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: The ready light will go out when the waffle is done. You may cook longer to achieve a crispier waffle. Keep the lid closed during the cooking of waffles to preserve heat.

Q: Is the lid of the waffle iron supposed to say up? The lid is quite heavy (with no suspension to regulate its weight) and from my observations, it doesn't let the waffle batter rise so it would cook light and fluffy. I even put extra batter in once(220mL) with no difference.

A: Yes on the model WMB500 the lid is to be closed during use.
