Defective Brush Roller

Pros : Excellent durable suction, Picked up lot of dirt, Price Cons : Poor quality of Brush Rollers Just about when warranty was to expire (~3 yrs), the belt broke with a burning smell. Ordered replacement belt from bissell.com. The new belt broke again after a minute or so of running!. Upon closer inspection, discovered that the brush roller has one of its end fused due to overheat and no longer turns. And this was causing belt failure.

Do Not Buy This Vacuum!!

This is the worst vacuum I have ever had. The carpet attachment does not work so there is no way to vacuum stairs. Dust gathers at the top and will not go down into the canister. When I called up I was told there could be static and to use a dryer cloth to wipe down the inside. It worked- but I do not want to have to do that each time I vacuum! This is not a one pass machine. It needs multiple passes and then it only picks up dust, not granules such as pieces of dirt or cat litter. Dust shoots out covering the vacuum and must constantly be wiped down. It does not work at all on bare floors. When you turn it off the dirt that it didn't pick up falls to the floor making a mess. When you use the hose it leaves the part where the hose fits into open and the dust in there flies everywhere. I am throwing it away! Please save your money, spend a little more to get a good machine.

I absolutely hate this vacuum. Poor suction and also when you use the hose, all the dust flies on the floor. The hose is very short and stiff, so when I'm vacuuming my steps i have to hold the vacuum on each step and it's heavy. I have had many bissell products and vacuums, and this is the first time I've had a problem. I thought it was just me, but i have a friend that has the same vaccuum and is having the same issue with the flying dust.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry you're disappointed with your BISSELL Cleanview vacuum. We do have some troubleshooting steps to help you get suction back with your machine. Please check the pre and post motor filters. Dirty filters will restrict airflow. You can wash the foam filters with tap water and mild soap. Make sure they are dry before reinstalling. To check for clogs in the upholstery hose, please remove the hose from the machine. Stick a broom stick handle down the hose to push any hair through that could be causing the low suction. There is the hose in the foot also to check by laying the machine flat. Removing the access panel to check for any clogs by the brush roller. We appreciate your review and your comments will be forwarded for possible future changes.

I agree with the others about the on/off switch being way too low. The hose is stiff, but it has to be made heavy I asume because EVERYTHING you sucks up goes thru it. (If you accidentally suck up a bit of glass if the hose were thin and super flexible it would be shredded. ) Great vacuum for the price.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The stated weight of the vacuum is 15 lbs. Please note when using the vacuum the rotating brushes, easy glide wheels and balance of design make pushing and pulling the vacuum effortless.
