Seems to be a good value

Installed on my older legend. I mounted it directly to the edge of my boat with stainless steel screws. I set my rod in it while trolling if I need my hands free. Wouldn't trust it to hold my rod all the time though. Flip up/down mechanism is neat. Time will tell how it lasts

They are a little cheap feeling but work well and you can remove your rod instantly without turning and messing around with the holder like some of the Scotty holders. They are net good for rods that have the handle with no foam or cork.

This is garbage. The mechanism for holding the rod firmly does not do a good job at all. Would not buy this again

A: We don’t actually have a published instruction manual or video for this item. However here my recommendations: The metal lever on this unit has two “L” bends. In starting position, the front “L” bend should be at a 45 degree angle, and the rear bend should be pointing straight upwards. By applying pressure, or placing your rod down on the front “L” bend, will force both the front and back levers downward. Which will lock the rod and reel into place. A downward load from the lure or sinker will keep the rod secure. Downward pressure cannot dislodge the rod and reel. See attachment.
