This handy tool has paid for itself many times over.
Originally got the scraper to avoid wasting the last quarter of asphalt sealant or getting it all over me.
Use it regularly for a wide variety of different buckets including paint, mixed concrete, mixed drywall. Works well with any sized bucket.
I already had a carabeener on my "mixing bucket" to hold my pail-lid pry tool so i just added this scraper to it.
I regularly mix 60lb bags of concrete in a bucket and this tool simplifies dealing with those hard chunks that sometimes get stuck to the side of buckets while mixing.
Same with mixing large batches of drywall.
It doesn't just "save on waste", it makes cleaning the buckets a whole lot easier. Less time and water wasted on cleanup.
The tool itself is very easy to clean.
I used to go through mixing buckets because they would get caked. Now the buckets get scratches (because the plastic tool is harder than the plastic bucket), but they don't need to get replaced all the time.

This cleans the mud completely from the bucket so no wasted compound. It also keeps the sides clean. The nylon is super strong., much better than the metal scoops and doesn't rust!
