The best air rifle ive ever bought...super accurate and can hit its target from a fairly far distance.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Decent but overpriced.

I got this as my first air rifle. Small game is possible but you'd better have a mean headshot. Trigger isnt great but adjustable to passable. Not sure why but my friend bought the same gun and couldnt break the barrel. Got exchanged but now mine is showing issues and im pretty sure the warranty says I have to send it to crosman. The irony is that you can buy the full power, U.S. version online for the same or sometimes less.

Q: breaking it in
each time the rifle has shot a smoke like substance rises from the barrel which I found odd because my other air rifles don't do this, is this normal during the break in process for the nitro piston?

A: Yes. Even spring loaded air rifles that have been in the closet, or in the box for an extended amount of time have some dust particles within the barrel and piston. This is completely normal. If this continues however I suggest bringing it back and getting a new one.

Q: could you kill a gopher with this gun?
how close would you have to be with a head shot and a lung shot with this gun shooting a gopher. thanks

A: A groundhog is WAY too big of a prey animal for any 495 fps pellet gun. Not enough penetrating power. If you are gonna hunt, do it humanely and use the proper tool for the job.

Q: Why is this gun more expensive than the other guns?
What makes it better than all the other guns?

A: It's only more expensive at CT, when not on sale. Otherwise, its the same price as many 1000+ fps with a spring. It would be nearly 800fps if government didnt require a PAL. With the nitro piston, thats fair... for Americans.

Q: can this kill racoons and possums if u shoot them in the head at close range ( say 15 yards or so )

A: You have no chance at killing raccoons or possums with this gun. I have no clue what gerrit is on about. This gun will take out small birds and squirrel under 10yards. I still wouldn't recommend taking squirrel.

A: If you have a valid Outdoors card, a small games tag, and are hunting within season... Then no. Just know that one shot will probably not kill an animal larger than a squirrel, be prepared for multiple follow up shots.

Q: i was wondering if this gun was powered by compressed air/co2 or nitrogen

A: No, break barrel air rifles are cocked and loaded by the person's physical cocking. This results in cheaper firing of the air rifle, however all are single shot and require some effort to cock especially when brand new.

A: Contact your town hall and fish and wildlife offices for those questions. You can't humanely kill any animal without a perfect headshot and I have my doubts about anything bigger OR tougher than a rabbit.
