Product Details

Boat trailer hubs get warm while traveling to the ramp. Warm hubs backed into cool water during launching are suddenly cooled which contracts any air inside the hub creating a vacuum. The vacuum pulls water and raod grit inside the hub contaminating the grease. The contamination causes corrosion and rapid wear. Perfectly good bearings can be ruined in less than one season. Bearing Protectors corrects this problem by filling the entire hub with grease. Most air that is trapped inside the hub will be expelled by the Bearing Protector pressure relief feature. Once the hub is full, the spring loaded piston in the Bearing Protector exerts a slight pressure to the grease inside the hub. With the pressure inside the hub slightly higher than the pressure outside the hub, water and grit cannot be drawn inside.

Very loose and doesn't fit at all

Bought these for my trailer, measured the existing caps with digital calipers and they were exactly 1.98" and fit snug like they should. Tried to put these in and are supposed to be the exact same size 1.98" but fit very loose, wouldn't stay in the hubs and would fall out. Tried tapping them in with a mallet and still wouldn't stay in. They were definitely smaller than 1.98" and did not work at all.

Wrong size in package

It looked good until I got out to the remote west coast of the island and found there was a problem. The package had been taped back together which I had noticed at purchase and the bearings don’t match the labelling. The buddy bearings are a smaller diameter. Looks like someone mixed up another package with these ones. I will be returning for a refund when we get back from fishing. Hopefully we don’t have any problems returning them. The price was also $18 more than the ones I had to buy from a marine shop in Port McNeil.

These wheel bearing grease cups work great, they fit perfect and were easy to install. They are spring loaded and keep pushing the grease into the bearing where it is needed.
