Bought my Babycakes Cake Pop Maker a few years back and it is still going strong. I've made many for bridal showers and birthdays and they are always the hit of the party. The receipes in the booklet you get are great and the non stick surface of the machine makes cake pop making easy, simple and your done in no time at all. Great product!

Q: Does it heat continuously and heat when the lid is opened? Does it heat continuously and heat when the lid is opened? I want to make takoyaki (Japanese octopus balls) with this machine. Also, how far up can the lid moved? Can it be moved 180 degrees so that I can use both sides at the same time?

A: You can definitely make takoyaki in this! It takes a little longer, the pan does not really get hot enough to make a crispy outer layer and the inside isn't really gooey cause it has to be in there so long... but they still turn out great! Just becareful of the lid. You can close it after they are more or less ball shaped and it'll brown the whole ball at once! - saves time.

Q: i see a few people absolutely HATED it...can it be returned? If i get it and it does not cook evenly like some of the reviews i read can it be returned once used if i am dissatisfied?

A: The problem is that in most cases it would seem that the lid is opened prematurely. It will cook continuously but the lid must be closed for the whole cooking time. Once you open the lid, the unit will start cooling down. It cooks both sides at the same time much like a waffle maker. This product carries a 2 year exchange warranty redeemable at any Canadian Tire store with proof of purchase.
