Do not buy!

This kettle is an accident waiting to happen.It was returned one day after we bought it.I explained to the Supervisor at returns that this kettles base was unstable and when full it would shake worse, and combined with boiling water it could be tragic.

B&D kettle sub basic

It works but its a Horrible Kettle, switch doesn't light up when Kettle is turned on , no water level site glass . Kid picked up. Used it two weeks and bought a replacement . Will use as back up if we ever need one

They Don’t Make ‘Em Like They Used Ti

This kettle replaced an older model and, by comparison, the new model is ‘average’ What’s missing? (1) The clear window to show you exactly how much water was in the kettle, (2) A pop-up lid that left you with a free hand to manipulate the water tap, (3) An on/off lever that lit up to show that it was functioning correctly, and (4) Many parts (e.g. lid, on/off lever, etc) that were sturdy metal, are now plastic. These quality issues belong to Black & Decker, not the dealer, Canadian Tire.

Q: Be ware: 3 red plastic discs attached to the inside of the kettle near the bottom, so you boil water with plastic. Even if it is PCB free, boiled water with plastic must still contain trace plastic particles. Poor design

Q: Good day, just receive the kettle KE1700SD was somehow surprised that there is some red plastic plastic levels inside. We are are not too keen to boil water with those red levels inside. Are the Black and Decker kettle have these red levels inside ?
