    Disappointed

This is a great looking awning however you must not have this awning up at all when raining or showering. Water pools and the awning sags. I have had another similar awning for 10 years that we just replaced and never had an issue when it would rain. So as long as you are ok with winding the awning in every time it looks like it could rain you will be ok.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can this product be mounted to siding (finding studs) and/or sofets?

    • A: I have installed two awnings on my cottage up north and they have been up year round for over five years. you can install them on siding the trick is to fasten a 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 onto the wall catching the wall studs with three screws at each stud. However before attaching the the 2x6 or 2 x 8 onto the wall attached the brackets onto the 2 x 6 or 2 x8 and counter sink the back nuts so that they are flush with the back of the wood then simply screw in the 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 into the wall and monut your anwing. as i said we have had these up on our cottage for over five years in the wind and what not with no problems. Like anything though if the weather is bad it is wise to roll the awning up to the house. better safe than sorry. Enjoy

Q: why does my awning squak when I roll it out Awning is level. Squeels horribly when I roll it in/out. Also hard to crank in. Part is level. Neighbour has same one that is silent. Is this a warranty issue?

Q: When the awning is fully extended should the arms be totally straight or still have an elbow joint. Can they be adjusted? The arms seem to not fully extend and the cloth is not tight>

    • A: The arms don't fully extend but it's fairly stable. The cloth is tight unless you extend it out right to the end.

Q: What is the height of the bracket(s)? I'd like to know specifically, the vertical distance between the bolts that attach the assembly to the wall.

    • A: 4" or very close to it. I didn't want to squish my siding so I put a couple of runners then 2x6 plywood which I then attached the awning to.

Q: Can the awning be mounted on a stucco wall? Can the awning extend beyond the wall on which it is mounted? The wall on which I am mounting the awning is 10 feet long, i. e. 2 feet shorter than the awning. Can I first mount a suitable 12 foot board (1 x 8 or 2 x 8?) on the wall and then mount the awning on that board?

    • A: I don't see why not. A 2x6 is all you need, that's what I used.

Q: How do you adjust the tilt?

    • A: There are 2 cheap bolts/screws that screw in and out. I'd highly recommend not even using the ones it comes with, they are very light and break easily. Spend a dollar or two and grab some good ones on the way home.
