Covers cleaned rims with a slick barrier to keep them clean longer between detailing sessions.

Expensive but helps to reduce brake grime build up. Driving a VW golf that seems to make a nasty habit of brake dust. Web surfing suggested this product and was glad to find at CTC. Seems to be working well. Its not 100%, but I'd say 85% cleaner than before after stop and go driving. Hoping it lasts , (3 weeks and counting after coating rims)

a must have for wheel maintenance

I have used this AG Protector for years and it's an incredible product. If you have brakes that create a lot of dust, this is a must-have. The application is very easy but it takes some practice to get an even coating everywhere. Any spots that were missed will get black quickly. The coating lasts months if not touched or is not exposed to too much weather.

Works great, but the 300ml bottle doesn't last long!

I feel it really does make the brake dust not stick to the wheels as much in between washes; the dust is less caked on, whether you wash it frequently or only periodically. Eg. we have a 2013 F30 335i xDrive using OEM brake pads, which are notorious for the amount of dust they leave, and the Autoglym Alloy Rim Protector definitely helped prevent build-up. However, the 300ml bottle didn't last too long, and I was using it on "just" 18" and 19" alloy wheels, and was mindful to only spray sparingly on the wheel (and not the holes, so not a lot of coverage). Bit pricy but great when on sale. Definitely should follow the directions to let the coat dry completely before drying, because it could bleed towards the perimeter of the wheels if you drive away wet, and/or trap the dust in the coating. Enjoy!

Keep in mind this is only good for light coloured rims, or it will leave a milky residue. I have white rims and they stayed clean for over 1 month with this spray. Remember to let it dry well after spraying!

Q: Is this product safe on paint/clearcoat? I know someone who sprays it on the body of the car and it works great, but how safe is it?

A: Product will not cause any harm to paintwork, however it is not designed for this use and on certain colors it could leave a hazy/misty finish.
