Waste of money

After installing this switch only one speed would work. I tested the switch and sure enough only one position was working. Because of how the wires connect to it you cannot remove them without cutting the wires therefore making it so you cannot return it. I bought 2 more and tested both before installing them. Both were bad and I returned them

Wrong switch model?

Purchased as the replacement for YOUYAN 3 way switch model E98999 (as the chain came out)
Installed easily.
Unfortunately, the high speed setting with the new switch results in the ceiling fan operating at the equivalent of the slow speed of the old switch.
I assume that I may have purchased the wrong switch.
What can you recommend as the proper replacement for the YOUYAN model E98999 switch?
