The stone is not mounted correctly and it wobbles not giving the correct angle at all times very inaccurate. Don’t waste your money

DIY Friend - save the cost of sharpening if you’re comfortable with it.

Did what I expected. A little difficult to be sure the backing is flush with the back of the blade but it did a great job sharpening and easy to use to take small amount off to balance as well. The fact you get both the sharpening stone and the balancer in one purchase is great. One is pretty useless without the other. Not sure if you could use this on a mulching blade but work great on my Toro Recycler.

Great for giving your blade the proper edge. I use this twice a season. Make sure to balance your blade. This one came with the balance stand. You could also hang it on a nail. This gives the required angle.

A: Thank you for your question. This tool is designed for use with rotary lawn mower blades and is not for servicing reel mowers. Consult the reel mower's operating instructions for the procedure and lapping compound used to sharpen it's blades and bed-knife.

A: Its plastic and not well made. You want to get the old metal one from Ebay or something because the plastic is a disappointment

Q: 3 items in the photo? In the picture there are 3 items. The piece that attaches to the drill is obviously for sharpening. The thing with a base and then a skinny part going up must be the balancer. What's the 3rd thing that looks like a round mayan pyramid?

A: The base of the blade sharpening and balancing kit consists of two pieces. The pyramid shaped piece “floats” on top of the lower base, which includes a vertical support. This allows you to obtain a perfect blade balance. Illustrations and instructions are included on the back of the package.

Q: Product #60-6107-8 Lawn Mower Blade Sharpening & Balancing Kit The package contains two grinder disks, one is smoother than the other. The picture of the product implies that the two disks are attached, which they are not and cannot be attached together. What is the purpose of the two different disks, and under what circumstances do you use either disk.

A: This blade sharpener and balancing kit is packaged with two different items, both ready to use. The first item is a sharpener, which when attached to a drill, sharpens the cutting edge of a blade. The second item is a blade balancer, which is used to check the balance of the blade. An unbalanced blade can cause vibration and lead to premature engine and chassis stress failures.
