Really Pretty Good

I have several of these and for the most part they have been outstanding. Several I bought four years ago are still going strong and working well. Recently I finally replaced one and the new light seems to struggle to hold a charge, but this could just be a function of reduced daylight to charge in the colder months here.

This light looks like a camera but is just a motion light. The last one we had lasted about 10 years. Worked wonderful. We didn’t have anything stolen after we installed 3 of them.

Not Weather Resistant

I bought this just over a year ago and it stopped working. They state that it is weather resistant but water has gotten into it causing it to stop working. I have other B&H products that work well but this one is a lemon and should have been weather resistant as advertized.

Q: Is there a way you can turn it off? We don't always need a light in the back yard (fireplace, hot tub...). It will be great near the garage door but not needed all the time in the back yard.

A: There is a slide switch on the back for turning it off. Even when it is turned on it needs enough light during the day on the solar panel to charge the battery.

Q: How easy is this to install and can it be installed with minimum damage? I rent.

A: Very easy to install with small screws. Just be aware that the lights only pivot up and down....they don't pivot sideways. That's one reason I returned the lights. The other reason is they performed inconsistently...all four lights I purchased. They're a cheap light and I guess you get what you pay for.

A: I have this on my shed in the backyard & when I step out on the porch it turns on, so that would be about 60 feet or so.

A: This light works in cold weather. I have had one in my driveway for over a year and it works great. It is a really bright light. I now have another one for my front walkway. If anyone walks up to the door it turns on. I would recommend this light to anyone who needs a light for around the house.

Q: We have an open porch leading to the font door. It is open but not to direct sunlight . Would the light be enough to charge the solar panel?

A: I had it mounted on a pillar on our house in the sunlight in the back yard and it was not enough to keep it charged. Since I moved it to a fencepost where I could turn the solar panel to point to open sky it works well.
