A: Hi Lolo, Great question! This product is for metal and wood only. Even if you were to use a primer and applied it to plastic, this is something we have not tested and we would not be able to stand behind the product. We hope this new information is helpful.

Q: Is this good for wood stoves?

A: We do not recommend our Armor Coat Rust Spray Paint for wood stoves as it will not hold up to the heat and it will peel and flake off. We recommend our Tremclad High Heat Enamel, available in both aerosol and brush on format. Our High Heat paint was designed for BBQ's, fireplaces, and wood stove applications. No primer is required.

Q: Looking for a spray paint to cover cardboard/Eva foam for a cosplay prop. Even though this is made for metal will it still work?

A: None of our SPP products are recommended to cover foam, especially a solvent based product. It will eat right through it. You can however cover cardboard. Very thin, multiple coats

A: When temperature and humidity are normal, Armor Coat should dry to touch after 6 hours, dry to handle after 24 hours, and reach full cure after 7 days.

Q: How can I thin Armour rust paint ?

A: We do not recommend Armor Coat be thinned. Mineral Spirits or Varsol (at 5-10%) would be required to thin Armor Coat's oil based rust paint, but adding such solvents would increase the product's VOC content. Thinning would have to be done at your own discretion.
