Suction cup is strong enough to stick to dashboard. Sturdy product and I like that you can move your phone to any direction you need it to go.

Q: What is this black disc for? One side is red, looks like I could peel it off and taping on to my dash but it ain't coming off.

A: It has been a long time since I used this device because it did not hold the phone in place. The suction stopped working soon after installing it. When I peeled the black disc of the dash it took part of the dash with it. Have since bought and use another phone holder.
