Really useful kitchen tool

You get what you pay for. I bought on sale for $99.99. while yes it needs an app and a subscription, which isn't that much, it works as it should. I've made things in jars, like egg bites, pasteurized egg yolks for buttercream icing AND use it for low temperature pasteurization pickles for canning. it takes time but worth it. Get the silicone lid. It helps. I dont know other Anova products or sous-vide cookers. it does what it should.

It's OK but not worth the effort. Takes too much time to vacuum seal the meat prior to using so that it cooks evenly and then there is still the clean up required for searing/ charring the meat so its not just grey.

Definitely do not purchase

After purchasing I found out you are unable to even turn this device on without paying a monthly subscription. You shouldn't need to pay a monthly fee to use an appliance you purchased in full. Should I have to pay a monthly fee to make toast with my toaster? I'm avoiding this company from here on. Canadian Tire should not be supporting this.
