Great idea, doesn’t fit dimensional lumber

I bought this to make inexpensive ramps to roll a golf cart into a storage container. They are well made but they do not fit on the end of a standard 2x8. I had cut a shallow (approx 1/8, 3mm) rabbet on the end of the board to get it to fit. 2 inch construction lumber is give or take 1 5/8 inch thick, not 1 1/2.

  • A: Designed for a tailgate and has straps too help secure it to the truck. 6 feet long and the ramp came in a pair. You post says one piece but mine ramps were a pair.  Hope this helps

Q: Would these work as a ramp into a shed?  Shed door opening is about 12 to 14” above the ground and I need to get my riding lawn mower in & out.  I don’t want a permanent ramp.

Q: What is in a "kit" the FEATURES says 1 piece yet the SPECIFICATIONS say 2 pieces which information is correct?

  • A: There are 2 ramp plate pieces and the bolts for them, plus the rubber pads and some pins too for the end of the plate to temporarily hold the ramps from shifting around. I just got these last night, so can't speak to the longevity of them yet, but they seem fairly sturdy. I have no qualms about walking my bike on to the lift.

Q: What are the pins for in the hardware kit? Also do you think this would support a quad if using 8 foot 2x8's?

  • A: I run a riding lawnmower up mine and use 8 ft 2x8s. If worried put a block halfway up. They work great all hardware included, rubber no slip on the aluminum so it doesn't slide around. The pins are stove bolts you just need to drill 2 holes in each 2x8 very easy
