The Algreen Rain Barrel Diverter Kit enables easy rain barrel setup with minimal downspout modification. This kit can be fitted onto standard downspouts and includes a universal downspout diverter, non-kink tubing, a hole saw, hose clamps, and assembly screws. The included downspout diverter with tubing allows for water diversion into a rain barrel, then back through the downspout once full. Thanks to a simple installation process using the provided accessories, this Algreen kit offers an efficient way to conserve water through rain collection.

Does not work

We searched everywhere for a product like this for our rain barrel. We hooked this up and in 4 months have only captured about an inch of rain water altogether.
Don’t waster your money.

Wow
Where to start.
This diverter seems like a 9 yr old invented it for their elementary science fair project.
1. It does not capture any water.
2. The parts are cheap.
3. Plug, is just an over sized plug from a bath tub. Falls off.
4. The diverter does not capture any water.
Be smart with your $. Don’t make the same mistake I made purchasing this item. Purchased for $10 more, a diverter that captures 100% of the water, works like a charm.

Best addition to my rain barrel ever. This is a clean way to fill your barrel without having to completely reroute the downspout. Drill one hole in the downspout (with the hole saw provided) and install the diverter and hose. Done!

Q: Is there something that needs to be for winterizing this diverter such that when it freezes it doesn't damage anything?

A: Hi Edith, The Diverter does not need any winterizing, however, if you wish, you can remove the fitting and the hose while putting on the rubber cap on the downspout to plug the hole. Thank you, Chris@TeamAlgreen
