A: No, vinyl records do not fit. emily_cantire, I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume Darren was asking about standard-sized LPs. He's probably not worried about storing his collection of 45s in the crates. Common sense and 2 seconds on Google tells me, specifically, he wanted to know if he could store something that is flat and about 12.38 by 12.38 in the crates. The interior dimension of the short side of the crate is approximately 11.75 inches, so you can't fit vinyl records that way. You can't store records the other way around because there are gaps between the slats in the bottom of the crate running along the long end. Your records would fall through the bottom between the gaps. Canadian Tire has paid for this product to appear in the top of page ads when you search "record album storage" on Google, which, for some strange reason, made me assume the product was appropriate for that purpose. My vinyl album-loving teenager was greeted on Christmas morning to a gift of two crates that are totally useless for their advertised purpose. Thanks, emily_cantire. Thanks, Canadian Tire online marketing team. Your attention to detail and customer experience is beyond belief.

Q: Are these well sanded or are they full of splinters? Crates at other stores are full of large splinters.

A: It was not strong and broke within a very short time. I do not remember if there were splinters as we didn't use it for long. Not recommended.

A: It will probably work very well. I use my two crates with a board on top as a bookshelf under and plants on top... I love them.

A: It's not 9.5. The length is 16" and the width is 12 1/4. The inside length is 14 1/2 and width is 11 3/4, hope that helps

A: The item is 100% natural wood Canadian pine. If you want to leave it outdoors I would suggest a stain or seal to protect the wood.
