It’s is extremely difficult to re & re because the bolts are in an extremely tight spot. Had to get someone with small fingers to get them out/in. Part itself is fine.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: How do I determine when the belt tensioner may need replacing? How or what symptoms would show when a belt tensioner is loseing its ability to maintain proper belt tension.

    1 Answer
    • A: There are several symptoms that a tensioner may need to be replaced. The most common are listed below: If the customer is unsure about the condition of their belt tensioner, I encourage them to bring their vehicle into the store for an inspection. 1.) Belt noise or squeal - This may indicate that the spring has lost its tension, allowing the belt to slip. This may also cause increased load & heat build-up on the bearing. Glazing on the belt may also indicate that the belt is slipping. 2.) Mis-alignment of the belts caused by wear on the pivot bushing. As the bushing wears out, the tensioner may not remain square to the engine. Uneven wear, such as fraying on one side of the belt may be a visual indication that the pivot bushing is worn. 3.) Loss of dampening function – The tensioner should help to absorb the harmonics of the engine. When a tensioner begins to fail, it will oscillate more, increasing the load on the belt.
