Great kettle; one issue

I love the multiple settings on this product. I also love the colour. I understand that this kettle can be used as a tea pot, but I have removed the strainer. I just wish I could remove the whole unit from the top of the kettle.

Plastic on steeping basket

Returned. I did not like that the steeper basket was partly made of plastic. Did not want plastic leaching into my steeped tea. Otherwise, looked like a very good steeping kettle where I could set my desired temperatures for green teas or black teas.

Q: is the steeping basket removable?

1 Answer

A: Yes, it is! You can unscrew it from the lid. It does take off the top part of the lid's handle (the part that rises with the basket, you can see it in review photos), but you can still use the bottom part to open it. There's also a small hole left from where the basket post was, but I haven't noticed any effect on the kettle's function with it there :) I just store the removed lid part inside the unused basket so as not to lose it.
