Light up your backyard with these simple DIY Mason jar lanterns that can be hung or placed around your patio.
30 MINS | EASY | 7 STEPS
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Start by removing the lids from the mason jar.
Fill the jar with 3/4 cup of aquarium substrate (or sand).
It secures the tea light to prevent shifting within the jar.
Pop in the tealight.
The base of the mason jar is now done.
Cut a piece of paper twine that is three times the circumference of the lid of the jar.
Take the ring part of the lid and slip the twine through.
Tie decorative knots (i.e.: fisherman's knot) on either side of the lid.
Screw on the lid to keep the knots in place.
Apply a bit of pressure.
And you're done!
Hang under your gazebo and/or string a line of them to create a summer glow!
