It’s easy to get your truck bed dirty, but it’s even easier to keep it clean. Looking to seal and protect your vehicle with truck bed coating? Don’t worry – you’ve got this!
12 STEPS
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Clean the tailgate and truck bed
Rinse the truck bed and tailgate with water and let it dry
Tape areas that you do not want the bed coating to bond to
Scuff the truck bed
Using a scouring pad, scuff all areas of the truck bed and tailgate where the truck bed coating will be applied.
Remove all sanding dust
Wear protective gear
Use wax and grease remover to remove oils, chemicals and other contaminants
Stir contents of the bed coating
Continue to stir every 10 minutes during the application process to ensure contents are mixed evenly.
Coat the bed using a 2 inch brush
Pour the bed coating into a roller tray. Start coating the truck bed and tailgate using a 2 inch brush and dab the bed coating into the seams and areas where a roller will not reach. Work front to back and let it dry for at least 1 hour.
Apply a second coat
Allow the bed coating to dry for 2 hours before removing tape
Remember to pull tape AWAY from the fresh coating.
Seal the bed coating container securely
A protected truck bed will be ready for light-duty use in 24 hours and heavy-duty use in 48 hours.
