OK, first off, the new blades are fine, restored my chipper to like new functionality. HOWEVER, I now understand why they give new bolts in the blade package. The original bolts from the factory were ridiculously over tightened. I used the removal tool attached to an 18" breaker bar and even with all my weight on the bar I could only loosen one of the bolts. I had to drill out and extract the other 3. I guess Yardworks felt that the bolts needed like 300 lb ft of torque out of the factory. So for me flipping the original factory blades around was a no go because I absolutely needed the new bolts for the first blade change. Its not like they were rusted up or anything like that, once I got the heads drilled out, the threaded part of the bolt spun out very easily. The bolts were just under a monstrous amount of torque.

Compatible with my older chipper

Nice solid harp blades. I bought these for an older chipper and they should fit right in. I had not noticed they are double sided until removing the old ones, I reinstalled the old ones to get full use of them but happy to have these on reserve when needed. Not on sale but reasonable price anyway.

Good blades , do not like to be resharpened. Just curious if they are made with a hardened edge and when that's gone, the metal below is just soft punk steel?

  • A: I see the numbers 060-3883-60 on the top right side of the warning sticker. That must be the model number because they are coincidentally the same as one of your model numbers except for the 60 at the end. Yes, they work with my machine.

Q: What is the size of the mounting bolts? I cannot find this in my machine manual or any online product info. Mine have stripped in attempt to remove blades for sharpening. I don't need new blades, just the bolts.
