I have been ordering spools (not frequently) for many many years. I called the number that I used to call only to hear that it must be done on line. I went on line (ugh!), only to find out that they are not available. What is that all about? I am supposed to get “spools for life”. I am not a happy customer right now and need an explanation.

Not Quite Living Up to Marketing Guarantee

I bought the trimmer largely bc of the Free Spools for Life 6-Pack. You pay for shipping and shipping is clearly more than the cost of shipping. So hard to really call it free. Also, the spools have not been available all summer. So kind of hard to use when you can’t get spools. Feels like the “free” spools are trying to be limited or phased out. All of it makes it hard to depend on Worx.

A: Thank-you, Thrifty Worxer! I am going to try your idea of rewinding the empty spools with .065 commercial grade trimmer string. The spools are not free at all when you have to pay over $9 for shipping and are charged tax on the shipping fee. That's because those refill spools are actually $1.56 plus tax apiece. And that's why you can't order more than one set of 6 spools at a time. I like my trimmer and have had it for years, but I hate how the company lies to its customers.
