Stakes extra long to ensure the secure placement of the bait stations outdoors. The stations contain a combination of sugar and proteins that attracts ants, along with borax, a slow-acting ant killer. Because the borax works slowly, ants take the food substance and the borax back to the colony and share them with other ants and the queen.
