Sprouted really well within a week. Seeded as ground cover between flagstone along with some top soil, looks great. Will plan on using more of this around the yard in general.

Q: How high does it get?

    • A: Planted it at my cottage last spring and it grew 3-5 inches tall.

Q: 1. Can the seeds be used during summer months? 2. How can they be grown w/o killing the grass first? 3. Do they need fertilizer too? If yes, then recommendations please.

    • A: I applied over a patchy grass lawn and the clover grew mostly in the bare patches the first year. In the spring of the 2nd year, the clover spread further over the grass and now that I'm in the 3rd summer, my yard is pretty much all clover. The clover leaves have also helped to suppress dandelions and other weeds by preventing them from making soil contact and blocking sunlight from hitting the soil directly.

Q: There are many varieties of "white clover". Anyone know exactly what variety this one is? Looking for White Dutch otherwise known as Trifolium Repens Thanks.

    • A: Yes, definitely Trifolium repens. I added it to a lawn seed mix. It was quick to germinate and wintered well.

Q: Will this grow under pine trees?

    3 Answers
    • A: White clover will grow almost anywhere. I have it seeded under pines and spruces, basically on a rock bed with a few inches of really acidic soil (from pine needles), and it is thriving. I don't bother throwing any additional soil down, nor add soil on top of the seeds...just broadcast and water regularly until the seeds germinate.

Q: I don’t want a lot of bees , does this clover attract bees?

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes, white clover is known to attract bees as it is a great source of nectar and pollen for pollinators. It is hard to say how many bees would visit your clover, usually the bees will only visit while the clover is in bloom as well.

Q: How late in season can you plant it and get good results? I've read clover should be seeded no later than 6 weeks before first hard frost

    2 Answers
    • A: I had better luck seeding this in spring and summer than late fall. I have had good luck planting grass seed in late fall but not clover. Only tried clover once in fall mind you.

Q: Has this seed been inoculated with the nitrogen fixing bacteria?

    2 Answers
    • A: No idea, sorry. We bought it two years ago to intermix with regular turf grass when doing a total re-seeding, and the result is wonderful. We haven't fertilized since, but it's green as heck, so whether it's the clover or the grass, there's lots of nitrogen! Minimal other weeds in the lawn, and the coolest effect - right after cutting it, the lawn is all grass. Just before you have to cut it again it has turned into a sea of clover, over and over all summer. Very happy with the product.
