I found that it didn’t have a smooth latching action on the left swing door. It also has the locked position straight up instead of sideways.

Also, try running the door rehanding process — it helps recalibrate the latch and can often resolve these issues. https://weiserlock.blob.core.windows.net/documents/we_ig_5053765_ged240.pdf

Lastly, yes, as you mentioned, the interior turn-piece will sit vertically when the deadbolt is in the locked position.

Not great quality

Have had this for about a year and a half and it was professionally installed by our door guys - cold air gets through the unit, it doesn't sit flush with our door, and one of the buttons fell off today, rendering it useless.

No, I do not recommend this product.
