Incredibly awesome tongs except for locking mechanism

a month ago

I had the same problem as one of the other reviewers, as I close the tongs the locking mechanism activates every time. It used to work fine but after a year it started this. To remedy the situation I removed the locking mechanism springs by using a soldering iron to melt the plastic from the inside of the tongs and they just popped out as the plastic melted. The locking mechanism still works when I pull the knob out. I had looked at many different tongs on the market and these are by far the best there is, quality is great, shape of the meat paddles are perfect to pick up whatever you are grilling.

Locking mechanism sticks while in use

Bought not even 2 months ago. The locking mechanism keeps closing them on me. I have to hold it at the end or it locks no matter what. Brutally annoying and unpractical. I was so hopeful these were going to be decent. Maybe I got a lemon, made on a Monday pair. 0 stars. Save your money and buy something simple without a locking mechanism.

Best tongs yet for the BBQ, Pizza Oven, etc. One hand open and close works extremely well with just a tap on the hip. It's a bit pricey compared to other, but well worth it.
