    LCD blanks out in 6 months

    12 years ago
    Contrary to the other reviewer, routing the wire isn't hard: if placed near the front hinges of a car door, the door won't crimp it, and you can stick the sensor onto the inside of your side mirror. But the LCD display dies within 6 months: same story on two different units.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    Mot worth the money

    Since the probe cannot be detached without great effort you have to route it somehow to get it outside the car to get an accurate reading. I tried to route it under the weather stripping for the drivers door and outside that little kink seemed to cause it to lose communication with the main unit as it was reading +7C in spite of the tempurature being -7C at the time. Once I pulled the wire out and straightened it it did go to a -3C reading. The other negative is the wire is not very long leaving you with very few mounting options. Now if the probe were longer, detachable so I could route it in a different way I could have accepted the +- 4C difference.

    No, I do not recommend this product.

    Q: Ou poser la sonde pour la température extérieur du thermomètre Je possède un Hyundai Santa fee 2007

    1 Answer
    • A: Par nos directions d'emballage ci-dessous, nous suggerons de passer votre fil du thermomètre dans le tableau de bord ou la console et le placer dans un bourrage de porte ou si possible de trouver un point d'accès où vous pouvez mettre le capteur près des essuie-glaces ou de la base du pare-brise à l'extérieur. Malheureusement nous ne pouvons pas faire une recommandation spécifique pour un véhicule en particulier. Installez Indications: Placer le fil du capteur extérieur dans un endroit protégé du soleil, de l'eau et de la chaleur. (Ex: l'intérieur de la porte de la confiture de véhicule)

    Q: Is the installation of this thermoclock simple Do you need to get under the dashboard to install this Thermoclock, or is there a sensor that you place outside pf the vehicle and the thermoclock reads it?...not understanding how this would work

    17 years ago
    1 Answer
    • A: Yes you have to route the temp probe outside. Sadly the wire is not very long and since it is directly wired to the base unit you cannot get it out to the outside to give a resonably accurate temp reading.;
