It seems suitable for footwear

If not attaching to a wall, no tools required. After visually lining up the frame's 2 front shelf built-in anchors (1 for each shelf end) with a shelf's matching holes, just push them together and they easily mate. I assembled them one hole at a time. The back shelf-ends rest on a built-in per-frame platform. Assembly: easy. I have 2 units stacked - 1 day old, as I write this. Looks like they'll be in use for a long time. My footwear: I consume 4 shelves for 6 pairs of men's size 12 sneakers, 2 pairs of sandals, and 1 pair of winter boots. 2 bottom shelves remain unused. I'm OK with that. (My) max single sneakers per shelf: 5. Looks nice.

Flimsy and frustrating

It was quite difficult to snap the shelves into place - one in particular seemed warped. Moving the rack even gently can make the shelves fall out of place.

Q: i'm confused as someone says can fit 9 pairs of shoes on one shelf and in the reviews someone mentioned fits a total of 9 pairs of shoes. thanks

A: I own 6 pairs of men's size 12 sneakers, 2 pairs of sandals, and 1 pair of winter boots. A shelf can hold 5 sneakers, or 1 pair of sneakers and boots with sandal space left over. I bought 2 units and stacked them. The top shelf now holds 1 sneaker pair and the boots, I use another 3 shelves for the remaining 5 pairs of my sneakers - 4 in total. I take the blame for not making measurements beforehand. Having said that, the small-sized shoe product photos and unqualified overall capacity claims are unfortunate.

A: I have 2 stacked units, containing only footwear, with no children/pets - feels sturdy. Doesn't wobble. I can imagine 3 stacked units. Product manual says 2 max.

A: Each set comes with three "tiers" so you can just buy 2 sets and make six "tiers". They come with screws that you can attach them from the top and add another set. I don't think there is a limit on the number of sets.
