Foot pedal broke off within two months

At first, I was delighted with this purchase. Slim design fit well in a small nook, quiet close top, fits a large garbage bag with ease, reasonably priced. Two months later and I’m hugely disappointed. The foot pedal broke off out of nowhere and it’s barely useable now. It’s very hard to open without it using a foot or hand. We definitely need a replacement but afraid I threw away the receipt :(
