Lid mechanism breaks

I have two that I loved but the kid opening springs break and then you’re basically stuck having to lift the whole lid off it’s frustrating. We have to get new ones now.

Purchased this can because it was less expensive than others in it's size. After a month the lid started failing to close.
Not long after that, the spring broke altogether, so at least it's closing. Now we can't scrape dishes in the garbage because the lid won't stay open ! I guess you get what you pay for.
PS I see Canadian Tire has them on clearance........I wonder why ! lol

Q: KIS Silver Touch Top Trash Bin, 47-L, loved it when I bought it less than a year ago but now, the top doesn't stay closed, any chance you sell a replacement piece for the closing mechanism? I hadn't check the comments before buying it, not a good buy :(
